Utility Cleaners play an important role in supporting many hotel functions. These associates may work across different departments, such as the kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry, to support cleaning needs.

Position Summary

They may prepare fresh, clean linen and spotless dining ware for guests. They may also operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, linen washers, and dryers.

Utility Cleaners may also transport dishware or linens across the hotel. They support different tasks to help get the job done.

Work Standards and Responsibilities

All positions require a focus on key areas for success. These include creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, meeting quality standards, and keeping uniforms, personal appearance, and communication professional.

  • Follow quality expectations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees and departments.
  • Support the team in reaching common goals.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to concerns from other employees.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 50 pounds or less without assistance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees.
  • Bend, twist, pull, and stoop as required.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
