Welder Job in Australia is a temporary 2–3 month contract in Sydney, NSW, for an experienced Welder / Fabricator. The role requires a trade qualification and 3+ years of welding and fabrication experience. Also, candidates need strong stainless steel and TIG welding skills. In addition, they must be able to read engineering drawings. The successful candidate will weld, fabricate, assemble, repair, and inspect stainless steel parts and process plant equipment. They will also follow all safety and quality standards.

SALARY – Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience

TYPE – Temporary Contract (2-3 months)

LOCATION – Sydney, NSW

My client specialises in the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of industrial process plant equipment. Therefore, they are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their team in Sydney on a temporary contract.

The Welder Fabricator will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Trade qualified Welder, Boilermaker, Fabricator, or similar
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar welding and fabrication position
  • Strong experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication
  • Previous experience working with process plant equipment or within process plant environments
  • Strong TIG welding experience, with MIG and/or Stick welding capabilities
  • Experience fabricating stainless steel components, structures, and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld procedures, and technical documentation
  • Experience working with stainless steel materials and understanding of appropriate welding techniques
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

The Welder / Fabricator role will involve:

  • Carrying out stainless steel welding and fabrication work on process plant equipment
  • Performing TIG, MIG, and other welding tasks to a high standard
  • Fabricating, assembling, and modifying stainless steel components and structures
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and weld procedures
  • Preparing, fitting, and aligning components before welding
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Operating workshop equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Assisting with repairs, modifications, and project work as required
  • Ensuring all welding and fabrication work follows safety and quality standards
  • Liaising with supervisors, engineers, and other workshop personnel
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
  • Working to project deadlines and production schedules
