If you have worked as a Gerocultor/a for some time, you know how difficult it can be to provide good care when there is not enough time. At Emera Vigo, we are looking for a Gerocultor/a who wants to join a team where each resident’s care, rather than a list of pending tasks, sets the pace of the day.

Vitrasa urban bus line L14 has a stop in front of the center.
About 5 minutes away on foot, there are stops for lines L12A, L12B, L13, and U2. These lines connect Sárdoma with central Vigo, including Gran VÃa and Areal, as well as the hospital area.
Your Mission
Your mission will be to help residents with daily activities that they cannot do independently. You will also provide basic care to support their well-being, hygiene, and health.
What You Will Do
- Take care of personal hygiene, clothing, personal belongings, food, position changes, and dining room service. Support residents with anything they cannot do on their own.
- Work with the nursing team to distribute medication, take vital signs, measure diuresis, prepare items for analysis, monitor tubes, and provide wound care.
- Take part in center activities, including therapies, entertainment, and group activities.
- Accompany residents on trips outside the center, such as medical appointments and activities. Provide post-mortem care when necessary.
- Be part of the Interdisciplinary Care Team. Take part in preparing and following the Individual Care Plan (PAI) for your residents. You will also be the Companion for your Care Group.
- Report and record any incidents or symptoms you observe with your coordinator, using the established formats.
- Follow the daily route, care protocols, individual care plans, and medical and nursing guidelines.
Requirements
- Intermediate Vocational Training in Auxiliary Nursing Care, or a professional certificate in Social and Health Care for Dependent People in Social Institutions.
- Food handler’s card.
- At least 3 months of experience in a similar position. Curricular internships count as experience.
