Responsibilities

As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing high-quality metalwork and fabrication duties that meet stringent safety and performance standards. Your key responsibilities include:

• Cutting, shaping, joining, and repairing metal components for structures, pressure vessels, and pipelines.
• Interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal materials for fabrication.
• Cutting and shaping metals using hand tools, flame cutters, and machinery.
• Accurately aligning and assembling metal components using precision measuring tools.
• Performing welding operations (MIG, TIG, etc.) and other joining techniques such as bolting and riveting.
• Conducting inspections to ensure welds meet required quality and safety standards.
• Completing finishing work including cleaning, polishing, grinding, and treating metal surfaces.
• Maintaining safety and quality in all fabrication and welding operations.

Requirements

• Qualification: AQF Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training) or AQF Certificate IV in a related trade.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in welding or metal fabrication.
• Licences/Training: Relevant safety and welding certifications preferred.
• Work Eligibility: Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
