Responsibilities
As a Welder, your key duties will include:
- Performing welding and repair work on deck and in the engine department
- Properly using and maintaining welding machines, grinders, power saws, bench drilling machines, and other relevant tools
- Following emergency procedures, including fire, abandon ship, man overboard, and oil spill protocols
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and reporting of incidents or near misses
- Participating in safety meetings and adhering to ISM and ISPS regulations
- Completing mandatory Maersk training and continuous professional development onboard
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 12 months of seagoing experience as a Welder
- Minimum of 12 months experience in shipyard or relevant welding industry
- Working knowledge of spoken English
- Understanding of ISM, ISPS, and security-related duties
- Knowledge of PPE usage and emergency procedures
- Certificates compliant with STCW 2010 Manila Amendments
