Guidepost Montessori is seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Teacher to join its growing team in Singapore. Responsibilities
Lead a Model Classroom
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-prepared Montessori learning environment aligned with Guidepost Montessori standards
- Ensure children’s safety at all times and maintain compliance with mandated teacher-to-child ratios
- Collaborate closely with other Guides to deliver high-quality Montessori programming
- Present sequential Montessori lessons in accordance with program standards
- Observe and document each child’s progress, interests, strengths, and areas for improvement
- Foster independence by interacting with children in a warm, respectful, and joyful manner
- Implement feedback from Montessori Mentors, Head of School, and fellow Guides
- Address student challenges through collaboration and problem-solving
- Open classrooms for parent tours and observations
Provide Exceptional Customer Service to Parents
- Maintain regular, individualized communication with parents using approved tools
- Provide formal feedback through parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and portfolios
- Meet with parents to discuss student development and resolve concerns as needed
Create a Strong Community on Campus
- Participate in team meetings and one-on-one sessions with school leadership
- Engage in community outreach, classroom celebrations, and parent events
- Actively pursue ongoing professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Native English or Mandarin speaker
- Experience working with children aged 3–6 years
- Valid LON (L2) from ECDA, qualifying you to teach in Singapore
- Strong passion for the Montessori method
- Growth mindset with effective problem-solving skills
Skills and Desired Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Montessori principles and practices
- Excellent classroom management and observation skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to document and assess child development accurately
- AMS, AMI, or MACTE Montessori credentials (preferred)
