Responsibilities
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all mechanical and related systems throughout the hotel. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and plumbing installations.
- Maintaining HVAC systems, motors, belts, bearings, and lighting systems across hotel and retail areas.
- Performing troubleshooting and repairs on non-operational mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Conducting welding work as required.
- Carrying out preventive maintenance according to engineering schedules.
- Operating the Building Management System (BMS).
- Performing chemical testing for boilers, chillers, and swimming pools.
- Maintaining life safety machinery, pumps, and emergency diesel equipment in coordination with the Security Manager.
- Responding to maintenance calls and reporting unresolved issues to supervisors.
- Assisting other trades and retail maintenance teams when required.
- Supporting fire response activities and remaining on standby during emergencies.
- Ordering spare parts, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining adequate stock in the maintenance shop.
- Ensuring accurate monitoring of water supply readings.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, tools, personal appearance, and uniforms—especially in guest areas.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Relevant experience in building or hotel maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple maintenance tasks.
- Availability to respond to emergency maintenance calls and standby duties.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintenance documentation and system operation.
