Responsibilities
As a Grocery Clerk, you will help ensure smooth daily operations in the grocery department. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining fully stocked grocery shelves and display racks.
- Unloading products from warehouse trucks and restocking shelves using pallet jacks (where applicable).
- Rotating dated products and removing unsold or expired items according to company guidelines.
- Inspecting product quality and ensuring food safety standards are maintained.
- Collecting and disposing of empty cardboard boxes and store waste properly.
- Assisting customers by answering questions, locating products, and providing friendly service.
- Performing cashier-related tasks such as scanning items, weighing produce, and ensuring accurate transactions.
- Collecting shopping carts and maintaining a clean parking lot area.
- Supporting product sales through suggestive selling and customer engagement.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working and shopping environment by following company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Applicants interested in this role should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years to operate equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Must be 21 years or older to drive for company business if required.
- Completion of any required certifications such as TABC, LACT, or AATC where applicable.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, pushing, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
