Responsibilities
As a Forklift Operator, you will:
- Load and unload non-containerized cargo from vehicles, ships, and storage areas.
- Identify marks, signs, measurements, and weights on cargo to ensure proper handling and placement.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with stowage rules and equipment load limits (SWL).
- Perform daily equipment checks before and after shifts to ensure functionality and safety.
- Report any damages, malfunctions, or discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper usage of the forklift at all times.
- Adhere to all safety standards and operational procedures set by the company.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Operations Foreman.
- Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions or hazards are identified.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Elementary School education.
- Licenses: Valid Equipment Driving Licence with endorsements to drive Forklifts, Light Vehicles, and Heavy Trucks.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in forklift or equipment operation.
- Language: Basic proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Physical ability to perform manual handling and operate heavy machinery safely.
- Strong sense of responsibility and adherence to safety protocols.
