Responsibilities
As a Firefighter at Ventia, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to respond to a wide range of emergencies and maintain operational excellence. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Responding to incidents such as airfield emergencies, structural fires, and bushfire management.
- Maintaining operational readiness by ensuring equipment, vehicles, and facilities are fully prepared.
- Carrying out duties as directed by Station and Sub-Station Officers.
- Completing administrative and documentation tasks related to operational activities.
- Complying with health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.
- Participating in training programs, drills, and exercises to maintain and enhance readiness.
- Supporting emergency and rescue services and contributing to effective incident management.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Ability to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1 (Secret).
- Australian citizenship.
- Successful completion of an Australian Federal Police background check.
- Ability to pass a Civil Aviation Safety Authority Basic Class 2 pre-employment medical.
- Hold the following minimum qualifications:
- PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations).
- PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations).
- Current HR driver’s licence.
