This full-time role involves supporting salmon farming activities, vessel operations, and feed equipment maintenance while working closely with on-site teams and the Hobart-based Control Room.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Fish Performance Manager and regional teams with daily salmon husbandry activities
- Operate as a skipper or crew member and ensure vessels are maintained to required standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of marine sites and shore bases
- Monitor and maintain feed systems, including cameras, winches, and feed spreads
- Observe fish feeding behavior and report changes, including predator activity, to relevant teams
- Repair and maintain feed-related and farming equipment
- Assist with feed delivery transfers to feed barges and report maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate documentation, including equipment audits and asset tracking
- Ensure feed barge maintenance requests are completed efficiently
- Support equipment installation, pen mooring maintenance, and general farm operations
- Communicate effectively with the Control Room and respond promptly to requests
- Monitor and report predator activity such as seals and birds
- Ensure all equipment cleaning complies with biosecurity procedures
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental policies
- Perform additional duties as reasonably directed by management
Requirements
- Experience working safely in a dynamic or marine environment
- Ability to identify risks and take appropriate corrective action
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills with managers, colleagues, and crews
- Willingness to work shift schedules
- Work authorization in Australia (preferred)
- Successful completion of a pre-employment health assessment
