The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is seeking a reliable and professional Driver to support its high-level diplomatic and administrative operations in Geneva, Switzerland. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, timely, and discreet transportation services for senior officials, staff members, and official materials within and outside the Organization.

The position is based within the Diplomatic Engagement and Assemblies Affairs Division, operating under the Sector of the Director General, and contributes directly to the Organization’s diplomatic and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

The Driver will be responsible for a wide range of transportation and logistical duties, including:

  • Driving official service vehicles to transport the Director General, senior officials, staff members, visitors, documents, equipment, and supplies
  • Supporting official transportation needs, including services required beyond normal working hours
  • Collecting and delivering inter-organizational mail daily at the Palais des Nations
  • Running official errands between WIPO and international organizations, consulates, permanent missions, state agencies, banks, airports, and post offices
  • Responding promptly to official service requests from line managers
  • Settling expenses related to visas, document legalizations, and other official expenditures and reporting accordingly
  • Performing routine vehicle maintenance, cleaning, and refueling
  • Carrying out additional related duties as required by the Division

Requirements

Education

  • Secondary education or equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a professional driver
  • Experience driving VIPs is considered an advantage

Languages

  • Excellent knowledge of French or English
  • Good knowledge of the other language
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable

Licensing

  • Valid Swiss driving license
  • Clean and reliable driving record

Skills and Desired Knowledge

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Discretion, tact, courtesy, and professional appearance
  • Ability to work independently while complying with internal rules and regulations
  • Good knowledge of Geneva and surrounding areas (desirable)
  • Familiarity with international organizations (desirable)
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong service orientation and attention to detail
