Responsibilities

As a Driver, you will act as the custodian of the company vehicle and assets during operational deployment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Accepting accountability for the vehicle, equipment, and operational systems assigned for the day.
  • Conducting thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical roadworthiness and compliance with mandatory security principles (MSP).
  • Performing scheduled Cash in Transit (CIT) services in line with operational procedures.
  • Maintaining communication with the Control Room regarding route details, crew information, trip scheduling, and any deviations.
  • Reporting all incidents, accidents, suspicious activities, or vehicle immobilization immediately to management and relevant authorities.
  • Recording details of accidents, robberies, and other operational incidents accurately.
  • Complying with the Road Traffic Act and all company Health and Safety standards.
  • Performing operational security drills and maintaining constant vigilance.
  • Ensuring all operational equipment (customer keys, replacement bags, CPDs, radios, scanners) is functional before departure.
  • Keeping the vehicle clean, refueled, and ready for the next shift.
  • Completing collection schedules and submitting reports at the end of each shift.
  • Wearing protective clothing, including bulletproof vests, at all times while on duty.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet strict regulatory and compliance standards, including:

  • Valid PDP license.
  • PSIRA Grade C Certification.
  • Cash In Transit Certification.
  • SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate for Handgun.
  • Statement of Results from Professional Firearms Trainers Council (PFTC) or SASSETA for Firearm with Business purposes.
  • Clean credit record.
  • No criminal record.
  • Not registered as a director of any company or business.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-shooting assessment and OBET training (for new applicants).
