Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the civil infrastructure and underground systems at the Sarnia Manufacturing Centre.
- Provide engineering support to production teams to resolve short-, mid-, and long-term civil-related issues.
- Oversee all civil programs, including foundations, structures, fireproofing, drainage, rail, dock, and pipe systems.
- Develop and review detailed work scopes for civil inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with Shell standards, site-specific guidelines, and federal and provincial regulations.
- Offer technical assurance and troubleshooting support for preventive maintenance, projects, and turnaround operations.
- Conduct failure analysis and apply causal reasoning to address civil infrastructure risks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, reliability, and performance goals are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within industrial, oil, or gas environments.
- Strong knowledge of civil structures, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and integrate detailed technical scopes.
- Legal authorization to work full-time in Canada for any employer other than the current one.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
