Responsibilities
As an Agricultural Scientist in this AI-focused role, your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing, annotating, and validating soil and plant science datasets to ensure scientific accuracy.
- Providing expert guidance to AI teams to enhance model outputs related to agronomy, soil management, and plant physiology.
- Translating complex scientific concepts into actionable AI training insights.
- Developing scenarios based on crop yield, soil composition, pest control, and plant management for AI learning.
- Identifying gaps or errors in AI outputs and recommending improvements based on current best practices.
- Collaborating with AI engineers and data scientists to fine-tune algorithms using domain-specific knowledge.
- Staying updated with advances in soil and plant sciences and integrating new research into AI model training.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Soil Science, Plant Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in crop breeding, plant physiology, soil composition analysis, or plant management research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey scientific concepts.
- Expertise in soil classification, mapping, growth condition studies, and evaluating agricultural practices.
- Familiarity with integrated pest management, crop productivity studies, and field research.
- Rigorous attention to detail for dataset validation and quality control.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
Skills and Desired Knowledge
- Experience in interdisciplinary projects or collaboration with AI/data science teams is a plus.
- Background as an Agronomist, Plant Physiologist, or Research Soil Scientist.
- Knowledge of emerging AI applications in agriculture and plant sciences.
