Responsibilities

The Plant Operator will manage daily plant activities, ensure safe operation, and support facility performance improvements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating and monitoring anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading systems.
  • Managing feedstock input, digestion performance, gas conditioning, and biomethane production.
  • Monitoring SCADA and automated control systems to maintain stable plant performance.
  • Tracking key process parameters such as temperature, pressure, methane concentration, and flow rates.
  • Responding to system alarms, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collecting and analysing operational data and reporting performance results to the central technical team.
  • Maintaining accurate logs, compliance documentation, and KPI reports.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance and performing basic mechanical inspections.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting plant equipment including pumps, compressors, valves, and digesters.
  • Coordinating with external contractors for specialised maintenance work.
  • Ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and operationally ready at all times.
  • Following environmental, health, and safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) or biogas operations.
