Job Responsibilities
- Restore damaged or worn metal components through appropriate welding techniques.
- Manufacture new metal elements by interpreting technical drawings while ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding operations.
- Select the most suitable welding methods and tools based on materials, dimensions, and job requirements.
- Maintain welding tools and equipment in optimal working condition.
- Suggest improvements or modifications to enhance functionality, strength, and safety of finished products.
- Inspect welds to ensure they are free from defects or imperfections.
- Verify weld compliance with project specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and comparators.
- Perform quality control checks and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Support the supervisor in departmental and site-related activities.
Job Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mechanical stresses and material resistance.
- Ability to assess weld quality, including finish, strength, and presence of burrs or defects.
- Expertise in choosing appropriate welding tools, materials, and techniques.
- Ability to accurately record technical data related to completed welding processes.
- Knowledge and correct application of safety standards, including the use of PPE.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and technical documentation such as drawings and material standards.
- Ability to evaluate the functionality and safety of tools and equipment (visual, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems).
